Frank Nugan was born on October 31, 1942, in Griffith, New South Wales, Australia, into a family of Croatian descent. His father, John Nugan, operated the Nugan Group, a successful fruit-packing business in Griffith, a regional center known for its agricultural and rumored organized crime connections.
